Our
Congregation is a diocesan Congregation founded by American Maryknoll
Bishop Most Rev. William F. Kupfer, M.M. in 1952 in Taiwan. He was
the Bishop of Taichung Diocese in the middle part of Taiwan during
that time. Anticipating the need of the local sisters to assist
the Maryknoll Missionaries in pastoral work to evangelize the people
in Taiwan, he founded the Congregation of Sisters of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus and gained help from the Daughters of Charity who
were the formators.
In 1993, upon the invitation of the priests of St. Joseph School,
Philippines, we embarked to be based here in order to continue the
missionary work started by them. Our apostolate includes education,
pastoral ministry and social work.
In 2000, we were able to send Sisters to Vietnam to found a convent
there. In just six years, with God's grace and blessing, there are
several Vietnamese vocations.
In 2003, we began our novitiate here in Naga City.
We are called to be compassionate and humble disciples of the most
Sacred Heart of Jesus, striving to offer ourselves as a pleasing
sacrifice to the Lord. |
