Integrating,
Preparing and Nurturing Children with Special Needs
The I.~P.A.N. PROGRAM
is patterned after the Ai-Ban Class (in Pin Yin) from the mother school
in Taiwan, which means “The Love Class”. This “Love
Class” is actually segregated class of children with special needs
whose learning abilities are being addressed through the Montessori and
other early childhood teaching methodologies
In the Philippines,
the I.~P.A.N. PROGRAM is not only known as the “Love Class”.
It has become an acronym for Integrating, Preparing and Nurturing Children
with Special Needs PROGRAM. The PROGRAM is in consultation with Dr. Edilberto
I. Dizon, the leading SPED Diagnostician and Professor.
The beauty of the I.~P.A.N. PROGRAM of St. Joseph School, Naga City, lies
in its mainstreaming feature - all children with special needs who are
under the program are taught together with their regular peers in the
regular class. Together they learn and grow with unconditional love and
concern.
VISION
Nurtured by the
love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we, Missionary Sisters of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus, in continuity of the legacy and charism of the congregation,
commit to serve Christ within all human beings created in the image of
God and to make known to all peoples the Divine Mercy of the Sacred Heart
of Jesus.
MISSION
- We believe that
all students are created in the image of God, hence are valued individuals
who are capable of learning and contributing to the society.
- We strive to continue
the charism of the congregation and actualize the vision that all peoples
may know God’s Divine Mercy, education of all students being one
of the channels.
- We inherit from
the greatest Chinese educator Confucius the legacy that all students
have equal educational access to quality services that allow them to
be successful in school and life.
- We are convinced
that all students learn in a milieu of options, alternatives and practical-life
situations.
- We advocate that
all students are taught to appreciate and value human differences and
similarities.
- We adhere to the
value that unconditionally loving all students strengthens commitment
to their welfare.
We stick
to the motto,
“PRO-LIFE,
PRO-HUMANITY, PRO-GOD!”
