 CAMPUS MINISTRY

The Campus Ministry of St. Joseph School aims to nurture the holistic growth of the Josephian community: the intellectual, personal, moral and spiritual development. It seeks to increase the active and enthusiastic participation of students to kindle the formation of persons imbued with spiritual values. The Campus Ministry promotes the need to deepen the community's relationship with Jesus, Mary and Joseph and at the same time encourages friendship and fosters solidarity among the Josephians through spiritual activities and programs.

To be a member of the Campus ministry entails being a leader by example. It is a call to be a servant-leader following the footsteps of Christ as King - I did not come to be served but to serve.

Mission:

The Primary Mission of the school's Campus Ministry is to build faith-communities in the campus and lead them to an active and life-giving faith guided by Christian values, Josephian spirituality and Confucian principles.

The Campus Ministry can be subdivided into four.

  • The Pastoral Ministry's primary task is to provide services inside and outside the campus. It organizes outreach programs and retreats to allow the students to grow fully in their spiritual lives.
  • The Music ministry serves as the choir of the Campus Ministry. It renders songs for the mass or for intermission numbers during special occasions. It is further subdivided into:
1) Instrumentalists - works hand-in-hand with the Schola Cantorum in performances using an array of instruments such as the piano, violins, guitars, percussions and rondalla instruments
2) Schola Cantorum - serenades the crowd on special occasions with their performances of songs of worship and praises.
  • The Art Ministry functions as the architect and designer of the campus. It is in-charge of decorating the campus making sure that it is appealing to the crowd as well as embellishing the bulleting board of the Campus Ministry.
  • The Liturgical ministry is responsible for any religious activity celebrated throughout the year. It is the chief coordinator of the mass. It is further subdivided into:
    1) Capilleros/Capilleras - their task is to clean the chapel which includes polishing the utensils
    2) Lectors's Committee - selected and trained students serving as lectors
    3) Commentator's Committee - selected and trained students servings as commentators
    4) Knights of the Altar - serves in the mass.

Albeit the ministries' varied tasks, the Campus Ministries works as one community fostering the spiritual growth and personal development of individuals.
