What is the B.E.S.T. Program?
- It is a
support teaching plan provided by the school to help the student achieve
his/her potential so that he/she may effectively and successfully tackle
expected competencies.
- It is a
development and systematic support teaching plan that addresses the
individual needs of the student and recognizes his/her unique rate and
pace of learning.
- It ensures
mastery of expected competencies through guided and differentiated teaching
strategies with provision of pullout for individualization.
- It provides
curricular modifications in order that the student may continue to get
motivated and succeed in his/her studies.
VISION
Prompted by the image of the Good Shepherd (Ez 34: 14-16), the program
aims to extend behavioral – educational support services to students
in the regular classes so that they may continue performing to the best
of their abilities and moving on toward a bright future.
MISSION
- To help
students who have difficulties in academics, social relations and other
areas of learning identify concerns and the need for improving themselves.
- To inspire
such students to acknowledge their talents, skills and abilities that
need to be polished.
- To assist
such students develop good study habits and attitudes and plans of actions
for implementation.
- To ensure
mastery learning toward a higher sense of achievement, self-esteem and
responsibility.
OBJECTIVES
The B.E.S.T. Program,
consistent with the I.-P.A.N. perspeactive aims to:
- To identify
difficulties and concerns of students.
- To simplify
the curricular contents for students with academic difficulties without
sacrificing quality of education.
- To provide
psychosocial support services to students with behavioral difficulties.
- To strengthen
collaboration among teachers, parents, administrators and guidance counselors
in the best interest of the
- To utilize
varied strategies/ methodologies in addressing the presented concerns.
- To monitor
and follow up students’ progress even long after their difficulties
have been addressed in the pullout sessions to ensure consistent and
successful adjustment.
IMPLEMENTING
STRATEGIES
The B.E.S.T. Program
utilizes the following strategies in providing needed services:
- Diagnostic Testing
to identify concerns and difficulties
- Evaluation Reports
of teachers for additional needed information about the student
- Teacher and Counselor
Conferences to discuss how the student can be optimally assisted and
to follow up his/her progress
- Pullout Sessions
to enable the teachers to provide one-on-one and small-group instruction
- Individualized
Planning to simplify and modify the lessons for the student based on
the tests and reports of teachers
- Monitoring and
follow-up Provision in the regular class to ensure positive/ successful
behavioral/ academic adaptation
- Parent Conferences
to report on progress and ensures active involvement of the family in
the student’s welfare
- Referral System
with other support- service givers whenever their specialized services
are needed

Program

every learner has the potential for learning and growing optimally within
a supportive and caring environment.
- Accentuates the
positive side of every learner and transforms this into strengths that
can offset his/her limitations.
- Brings out the
BEST in every learner so that he/she happily and confidently socialize
and learn with his/her peers.
